Instant Messaging is defined as a form of real-time communication between two or more people based on typed text. The text is conveyed via computers connected over a network such as the Internet.  There are a few forms of instant messaging and they are as follows. Web cams is one way and with this you can see each other while you are messaging each other, providing you both have a web cam. Hotmail, yahoo, ICQ and AOL have the intant messaging system that allows you to chat with a person right then. In the last half of the 1980s and into the early 1990s, the Quantum Link online service for Commodore 64 computers offered user-to-user messages between currently connected customers which they called “On-Line Messages” (or OLM for short). So, as advance as we do i’m sure we will come up with more and more forms of instant messaging.

Where to begin with PLE’s( Personal Learning Environments). I’m not all that great with PLE’s but i am liking the netvibes thing and all the resources that goes allow with it. I have recently started looking into Del.icio.us and i haven’t gotten the hang of it yet. I have been getting a lot of my PLE’s from google and saving them but i have done most of them from Netvibes and i have not saved anything on Netvibes.

When i think about PLE’s, I’m thinking it is just any learning software or something to that affect that helps you out with anything you are trying to learn. I mean, would that be maybe those softwares that teach you a different languages? I like to think it is. Well, this is my spill about PLE’s.

I read the podcasting and vodcasting article by Peter Meng. This article was pretty good but like i have said all the time that i’m a more hands on type of guy. I read all the stuff on it but i really need to see it in action to get the full gest of things. From the way i read it, i could do this stuff at home. I would just need to get myself a good mic and download the free software for RSS News Reader for the Podcasting. Now for that Vodcasting, i’m not sure i would be able to do that but i really don’t know if i want to even do Vodcasting anyway. I’ll just stick to just trying to do Podcasting.

 I’m not one to write a book on things, but i do like to do some reading more than writing. So everyone, don’t get mad if this article is not a very long response to what i read.

I felt that this intro article was pretty good. It kind of relates to what my blog page is going to be about. It is right on when he is talking how we pretty much are in a communities of practice in everything we pretty much do. I really didn’t realize that untile i read the article and then thought about it. Mr. Wenger makes a lot of sense to me and that i see we really need each other while in this business because we drive off each other. We all, somehow or way take bits and pieces from each other and use for what ever we might be working on or doing. I guess to find our nitch in this industry we will need to form communities of practice so we can learn and grow better in what we try and do.

In my blog,  i am gearing toward men and women that are careers like carpeter or something of that nature but in the back of there mind wants to go into something like Graphic Design or IMD. In this site they will be able to get information on what school is the best for them and what they should expect when trying to do a career totally different from what they are used to.

 I know for me, when i got out of the army and my trade was installing cables and wires. I always wanted to get into making my own websites and everything that goes along with that but i really didn’t know where to go. I didn’t know what school would be the best for me, i didn’t really know what to expect. I was really overwhelmed when i got here at the art insitute. I kindof think i still might be.

 I want me site to help people like me that have been out of school for a while. me i was out for about 10 years and just had a lot on my plate when it came time for trying to go back to school and learn something that i haven’t learned in many years. The army had colleges there at the military post i have been at but i was in the field or deployed so things didn’t go the way i wanted to progress myself.

 So, in all this. I’m just trying to get people the information that i think they might need. There will also be a forum for others to talk about the exciting times they are having at school and the pitfalls they encounter. Maybe some tips for those of us doing this school thing again.

Well, where to begin. I would have to say that , that article was a long way to just saying good learning tools for us all.

 I have to say, i got tired of reading this article or book but read it. I really was confused after reading it but read it and just made myself confused and lost. Maybe i will read it again and see if i get it.

   Sorry that my posting was a little late. I had some issues with the computer and without the computer no way to do this.

  Okay, lets get down to it. When i read the article about the Web 2.0 done by Tim O’Reily, i thought it was an eye opener. I really hadn’t realize how far we have come until he made his postings about web 2.0.  I feel very good about were everything is going. I mean, we as a whole are living off what we have created and pretty much not going to be able to live without the conforts that we have now.

  So, i’m saying that my feelings toward the article is that of good feelings and awareness.
